Installation View. Unwavering, January 4 - 23, 2022, TCDC (Grand Postal Building).
Like the flow of water, my paintings are always fluctuating; always in motion. The forms that emerge on my canvas long to be traced, erased, then traced again — it is an arduous process of painting and repainting; creating and destroying, adding layers upon layers of paint. It takes on many shapes before coming to a rest on its “final” form. Yet, it is only a matter of time before it undergoes another transformation.
Never still, nor stagnant for long, my paintings merely offer a glimpse of a fleeting moment. Knowing full well the futility of capturing the temporary, the question then arises: Why is it that we keep trying?
